Originally entitled 'Thor und die Midgardsschlange", this print is from a famous old painting portraying a scene from Ragnarok. Thor is seen here fighting Jormungandr, the offspring of Loki who eventually became known as the Midgard Serpent ...and nemesis of Thor. Thor kills Jormungandr, but then dies himself from the serpent's venom. The original was painted in 1905 by Emil Doepler.
