The Lindholm Hoeje brooch (Danish: Høje) is a good example of the animal style of the late Viking Age, the so-called Urnes style.

This artistic style takes its name from the carvings from this period on the famous Urnes Stave Church near the small Norwegian town of Ornes, located on a tributary of the Sognefjord.
