Thor's two rams, Tanngrisnir (meaning "teeth-barer") and Tanngnjóstr (meaning "teeth-grinder"), are an important part of his mythology.

The rams are often seen as symbols of strength and endurance. As well, they have a connection to themes of sacrifice and renewal, as seen in the story where Thor sacrifices them for food and then resurrects them, highlighting a cycle of life and death.
