Hnefatafl Set - Isle of Lewis Version | Mosaic Tiled Playing Board

This set includes playing pieces modeled after the King piece and the 'shield-biting' Berserker (rook) pieces from the famous Isle of Lewis chess set. 

Tafl (Old Norse for 'Table') games were extremely popular with Vikings. There were numerous variants, however Hnefatafl (King's Table) became the preferred option in Scandinavia by the end of the Viking age. Hnefatafl game pieces have been found in numerous Viking grave burials. Easy to learn and fun to play! 

Please note that the overall game set does not include a branded 'game box' and the individual items will arrive packed loosely wrapped in bubble wrap within a normal shipping box.

Set includes:
- A printed set of rules.
- Full set of 37 playing pieces. Colors: Ivory and Black. Made from resin and crushed stone. 

And your choice of:

• Smaller, rustic looking, mosaic tile styled board (approx. 10.4" x 10.4") made from resin and crushed limestone.
  
• Larger, board with a different design (see image - approx. 12.2" x 12.2") made from resin and crushed limestone.
